Laptops today are used more than desktop computers, so you want to make sure they start up when you need them. If yours is being stubborn, try these tips before calling us for service:
- Make sure the plug is in a live power outlet or surge strip or battery backup (UPS).
- Is the surge strip or UPS plugged into the wall and turned on? I know, I know – but still, check it
- Unplug the power cord from the laptop; hold down the Shift, Control, Option and Power buttons for a good 15 seconds. Release all buttons, wait 5 seconds and press the Power button again.
- Unplug everything connected to the Mac (mouse, keyboard, hub, etc.) and repeat the above steps.
If that doesn’t get your Mac started, it’s time to call John and make an appointment.
